COVID-19 Visitor Access Information for Our Homes in NSW and WA

We understand that it is difficult to keep up with changes to COVID-19 restrictions, so we wanted to make it as simple as possible for our residents’ families and loved ones to understand the rules of entry at our aged care homes in WA and NSW.

Our number one priority at Hall & Prior is and has always been keeping our residents and staff safe and well.

What this means for you in:

New South Wales

Hall & Prior management continues to closely monitor local COVID-19 outbreak clusters.

Particular focus is placed on community spread, as this poses the greatest opportunity for COVID-19 to enter one of our homes.

From 9pm tonight (Friday, October 23) our Menaville and Bexley Aged Care Homes will be in a precautionary lockdown.

NSW Health has also issued new visitor exclusions for people who live in or nearby to COVID-19 hotspots; currently these are: Lakemba (suburb) and the Camden, Liverpool, Bayside, Waverley and Randwick LGAs.

All of our staff at Bexley, Menaville, Vaucluse and Shangri-La Aged Care Homes will also be wearing masks due to their proximity to COVID-19 hotspots.

While we do not have any cases of COVID-19 in our homes, carefully managing visitor access to our Sydney homes helps protect our vulnerable residents from the ongoing threat of community transmission.

We thank you for your understanding and patience during these uncertain times.

Western Australia

Our homes in Western Australia are safe at present but we must remain vigilant to the threat of COVID-19.

We will continue to screen visitors into our WA homes and as ask that you stay away if:

  • you have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, or have been in close contact of someone who has travelled overseas in this time period;
  • you have symptoms associated with COVID-19, and/or a temperature of greater than 37.5 degrees;
  • you have not had a 2020 influenza vaccination, should one be available;
  • you have travelled from Melbourne or interstate and are required to be in isolation for 14 days. Please advise the Director of Nursing/Executive Manager at your home if you have travelled from interstate. We ask that visitors continue to call the home ahead of their visit to ensure that we have resources available to screen upon entry to ensure compliance with the above.

If you have any further questions please call the Director of Nursing or Executive Manager at your home and they will be able to advise you.

We also recommend that you ‘Do the Three’: wash your hands, practice safe social distancing and download the COVID Safe app.
