COVID-19 weekly update from Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group.Read more >
COVID-19 continues to challenge our sector and with new hotspots in South Australia and New Zealand this week our visitor access restrictions are updating daily.
On 14 November the Western Australian hard border was replaced by a controlled border, allowing travel into WA from all States and Territories, with some continued quarantine requirements.
Due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in Adelaide this week the borders between WA and SA are now closed.
The easing of border restrictions creates an increased risk of COVID-19 re-entering Western Australia. We wish to reassure you that we continue to refine our Pandemic Management Plan and are prepared for the increased risk. Our staff are trained in outbreak management procedures, infection prevention and control and PPE.
All visitors to our homes in WA and NSW will continue to be screened on entry and we require evidence of a current Influenza vaccination. In WA we ask you to remain vigilant.
Should there be any evidence of community transmission in WA please rest assured we will work closely with the WA Department of Health to act quickly and place any local homes into lockdown as this is managed.
Due to COVID-19 hotspots visitors who have come from New Zealand or South Australia may also be restricted entry to our homes. Some visitors will be asked to wear masks if they live close to COVID-19 hotspots.
While we do not have any cases of COVID-19 in our homes, carefully managing visitor access helps protect our vulnerable residents from the ongoing threat of community transmission.
We thank you for your continued support. The safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff remains our number one priority.
Please do not hesitate to speak to the Director of Nursing at your home if you have any questions regarding visiting your loved ones or our COVID-19 Plan.
