Diversity and Inclusivity

Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group embraces diversity in our provision of inclusive aged care and welcomes all people regardless of lifestyle choices, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation or gender identity.

With the support of Perth-based group GLBTI Rights in Australia (GRAI) Hall & Prior have developed an LGBTI-inclusive education program to support staff and volunteers in providing a service that is individual, diverse and inclusive to all care recipients. We are committed to the pursuit of excellence in the provision of care and accommodation to the aged in our community.

As an organisation, Hall & Prior is responding to the need for appropriate care for LGBTI elders by creating an LGBTI policy. We have formed a committee to ensure the comprehensive roll out of training and inclusive language through all forms and documentation.

Our dedicated LGBTI committee receive in-house training from GRAI, who work to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) elders, as part of the Federal Government-funded National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Training Project.

The journey at Tuohy Aged Care Home has been shared with all our homes across the organisation, enabling us to support consumers who face a similar journey. GRAI now shares our story to assist other aged care providers in their education and support programs for gender and sexuality in aged care homes.

At Hall & Prior we also pride ourselves on providing culturally relevant care in all of our homes. Delivering high-quality care in a personalised way that takes into account and respects each of our consumer's diverse cultural and linguistic needs and perspectives.
