Sharing the love on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day at Rockingham

The staff from Hall & Prior's homes made this Valentine's Day a memorable occasion for their residents and their partners, putting on events that included a romantic lunch, and a bus trip and outdoor picnic.

Activity rooms at both Mosman Park and Freshwater Bay were transformed into romantic Valentine's Day dining rooms, decorated with candles, roses, red streamers and paper hearts. Nine couples enjoyed a delicious lunch, which came complete with sparkling wine and chocolate hearts filled with strawberry mousse.

The lunch was especially memorable for Freshwater Bay resident Harry (pictured below) who had just celebrated his 100th birthday, and has been married to his beautiful wife for 70 years.

Another five couples from Rockingham took a bus trip up to Bicton on the day and enjoyed a picnic lunch of cold meat and salad by the river at Point Walter. The group sipped champagne and orange, and the gentlemen each presented their ladies with a long-stemmed red rose. Despite the effort that the staff went to make the day as special as possible, they couldn't have arranged a better finale than the pod of dolphins that swam past the group at the end of their picnic.
