Celebrating our staff

Hall & Prior's annual Directors' Awards celebration is a chance to recognise staff who have made an outstanding contribution to our organisation. This year, we recognised seven individual staff and the teams from Belmont and McDougall Park Aged Care Homes for outstanding achievement, 35 staff for outstanding care and services, and eight staff for outstanding leadership.

A further three staff - James Wightman, Mariska Bezuidenhout and Yvonne Wales - received scholarships to further their studies, thanks to support from TENA, CoPharmacy and the Directors of Hall & Prior, and the award for Exceptional Teamwork went to the staff from Kensington Park.

It has become a Hall & Prior tradition that the Director of Nursing from each home that has undergone a successful accreditation during the year is presented with a rose to plant in the garden of her home. This year, roses were presented to Judy Davis of Concorde Aged Care Home, Di Simpson of St Lukes Aged Care Home, Sharyn McDavitt of Windsor Park Aged Care Home, and Cindy Skinner of Rockingham Aged Care Home.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Mosman Park Aged Care Home's 2014 Better Practice Award by the State Manager of the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency, Mr Paul Richards. Mosman Park's Director of Nursing, Devi Subramaniam, accepted the award with her Clinical Nurse Manger, Catherine Zhou; Manager of Quality, Safety and Compliance, Janice Rooney; and Hall & Prior's General Manger Health and Care Services, Jennifer Grieve.
